Youth Class Descriptions Classes for Children Primary (ages 6 - 8): All students must be able to listen and follow teacher instructions. Students learn basic Italian vocabulary and expressions including greetings, introductions, articles in the home, descriptions of weather, parts of the body, colors, and qualifiers for sensory experiences. Activities include the following: Viewing audio-visual material Dramatization and singing Simple math and logic games Drawing and collage 3-D form building Group games (hopscotch, Italian tombola, treasure hunt) Conversation and basic writing. Youth (ages 9 - 12): All students must be able to listen and follow teacher instructions. Students learn to read, listen and comprehend, write, and speak basic sentences through group activities that focus on their interests, hobbies, and heroes. Students research Italian geography and history and discuss their impressions of Italian culture and life. Learning topics include the following: Subject pronouns The verbs to be and to have Adjectives and adverbs Basic verb conjugations Making requests and asking permission An introduction to writing and reading.
